If the development goes ahead, the remaining green space will have a very different feel as a public park. It will be overshadowed by tall buildings, with noise pollution and loss of privacy affecting both tenants and park users.
There are also concerns about:
Potential overuse of the green area by people exercising dogs.
Loss of established wildlife and heritage trees.
Risk that a transfer of ownership of the park from the council to private ownership could lead to restricted use.
