The plan presented during the public consultation proposes building the first high rise blocks in Leatherhead.
This is not in keeping with the character of the town and its architectural history. The proposed blocks will be double the height of the tallest residential buildings.
Given Bull Hill's position in the town, these blocks will ruin the feel of Leatherhead and give a poor first impression to any visitors who arrive by train.
Beyond the aesthetic issues, the environmental impacts of tall buildings are also a concern. These include wind tunnels and the long shadows that will affect whatever is left of the green space.
